This is Kathy Bogucki's "War Chant" Resin. Finished by DeeAnn Kjelshus. This Stallion took a ton of time to create, but he was worth it and I had a blast creating him. If you know anything about painting in pastels then you know how long it takes to achieve any type of dark color. I work from light to dark, and as I added each layer I also added new layers of dapples. This boys coat has DEPTH. I'm very pleased with the results. Add to that the time I took to create detailed cracked hooves, chestnuts, white markings with detailed hairs and mapping, eyes that have life and you have many weeks of work into this bad boy. I thought about adding a metallic sheen to his color but opted not to. After all, this boy is wild, and horses in the wild tend not to have the shiny coats that show horses do, due to the lack of nutrition. Instead of glossing his hooves, he has a matte finish on them which will help protect them from nicks. The same matte finish is used on tips of ears, and mane/tail tips. He is sprayed with protective finish. Actually, as I work on the layers of pastels between each layer I spray TWO protective coats of finish. One, is a Krylon Crystal Clear, and the second is Testors Dull Coat. So by the time the piece is complete the coat is completely protected. He is completely finished when I add a clear shine over his eyes, and nostrils. Completed September 2009. Mediums used: Acrylics and Pastels.

This guy sports all those details including (but not limited too):

- Multil colored eyes
- Realistic yet subtle dapples
- Pinking where appropriate
- Dirty legs like a wild horse would have
- Very realistic cracked hooves and chestnuts
- Mapping around markings
- detailed realistic base
